If you have intermediate piano skills, there is no reason why you should be signing up for basic or beginner lessons because you will only be wasting your time and money. Do not try to cheat by jumping to an advanced session either. If you don’t have basic skills, you might find the more advanced lessons too challenging to perform.

Once you’ve decided you want to learn to play piano online, determine your learning style. If you learn best on your own and have the focus and discipline to keep a schedule and complete a lesson, a DIY method of learning to play using pre-set or pre-recorded instructional materials will be best for you. What to expect

As a beginner, you will be taught the basics of piano playing, such as how to read notes, keep count, how to find and identify keys, how to identify and play the different styles and use the correct wrist and finger positions. After a few sessions with beginner level lessons, you could begin playing simple tunes. By the time your complete a beginner level, you would be able to read notes comfortably and play from most music sheets. Intermediate and advanced levels will often train you in playing more difficulty pieces and improving your techniques.
